Homily by +Bp. Romie- Jun Peñalosa

In this Sunday Mass Homily at Saint Michael Kalibo, +Bp Romie- Jun reminded us that when we encounter Jesus, things change. The story of the woman with the issue of blood in the Gospel is not just her story, but also ours. Sometimes we bleed out in our finances, in our family, in our friends. But when we encounter Jesus, something happens.

This Gospel shares with us the importance of “hearing about Jesus.” In the midst of her suffering, she HEARD about Christ. People find hope when they hear about Jesus because faith comes from hearing the word of God.

+Bp. Romie-Jun also shares here 4 things about faith:

1. She said it. “If I can touch the hem of His cloth, I will be healed” You have to speak out what you believe!
2. She believed it. Because she believed it, she took a risk despite her being perceived by society as unclean.
3. She did it. She acted on what she believed in. Faith without actions is dead.
4. She testified about it. And when she testified, someone else will listen and hear. Thus the cycle happens again.

Remember when we touch God’s heart with faith, He will hear it. He will respond to it.
