Topic: Handling Offense
“God desires peace, unity, and reconciliation within us.”
“We are to grow in the love of God.”
“How to win a brother and how to handle offense.”
Luke 17:1 – Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!
“We cannot avoid offense”
Offense – a stumbling block; a cause to sin; transgression of the law.
Mark 4:16-17 – These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.
Displeased – Indignant – Resentful – Fall Away => because they did not settle it in their hearts.
Philippians 1:9-11 – And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
“Have time to read the Word of God to know the Love of God.”
