Homily by Fr. Erel Villanueva
In this Sunday Mass Homily at Saint Michael Kalibo, Fr. Erel reminds us to rest- physically and spiritually. Sometimes, we tend to work ourselves out which leads to our exhaustion.
We need to rest because firstly, it is a reminder for us that our strength comes from the Lord. In order for us to gain strength from God, we need to find rest in His presence through prayer and listening to His commands. Secondly, rest is essential because our body gets tired and we need to recharge. Human as we are, our body needs to rest in order for us to regain strength.
Resting in God’s presence also enables us to hear specific directions from God and for us to become compassionate to other people.
Let us take time to rest by spending time with God, our family and our friends.
