sanctifier – to separate us and make us holy.
Sanctification of the Holy Spirit
Romans 15:16 – that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
2 Thessalonians 2:13 – But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,
1 Peter 1:2 – elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
“The Work of the Holy Spirit is to sanctify us.”
How the Holy Spirit Works/Sanctifies us:
1.) Through the Word of God; the Holy Spirit will convict us through the Word of God.
John 16:8 – And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment
2.) Through other people
“The Holy Spirit uses other people to build your character.”
3.) Through Circumstances
“Circumstances – so we can test and exercise our faith.”
“All these will allow us to conform in the image and likeness of God.”
“It will cleanse the attitude of our hearts.”
2 Conrinthians 3:18 – But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
