Topic: Have Seeking Ears, Not Itching Ears
Strive to remain faithful to the Lord’s Word and resist those who revise or change It’s intended meaning, just to suit their own personal preferences.
2 Timothy 4:1-5 – “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”
- Only trust the information if it comes from God!
- The little things we allow to enter in will open us up to bigger things.
- Our lifestyle (attitudes, values, etc.) is a way of preaching to others.
- Preach the Word no matter how difficult the situations are.
- Jesus Paid for our sins that we might be delivered from sin.
1 Timothy 4:1 – Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,
2 Timothy 3:1-5 – Perilous Times and Perilous Men
Deuteronomy 12:32 –Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.
Proverbs 30:6 –Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.
Revelation 22:18-19 – For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Matthew 5:18 – For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
