Homily by +Bp. Romie- Jun Peñalosa

In this Sunday Mass homily at Saint Michael Kalibo, Bishop Romie-Jun reminded us to seek humility and strive to be the least among us. He emphasized that true wisdom, which leads to a fulfilling life, is rooted in the fear of the Lord. While worldly wisdom can often be misleading, God’s wisdom directs us toward righteousness.

Bishop Romie-Jun highlighted four distractions that can draw us away from God and cause us to lose sight of life’s true purpose: wealth, power, honor, and pleasure. He reminded us that Christ died on the cross so that we might become rich—not in material wealth, but in love and grace. As followers of Christ, we are called to embody love for one another and resist these distractions.

To find genuine happiness, we must cultivate a humble heart. Let us focus on Jesus and seek His righteousness in all aspects of our lives.
